Welcome!

KinKare is a not-for-profit community organisation that has been working since 2002 to assist relative carers, particularly grandparents, who find themselves with the responsibility of bringing up grandchildren.

Based in south-east Queensland, its aims are to assist relatives and their loved ones to meet their everyday needs, to promote community awareness and government understanding of this new family phenomenon, raise issues of concern, seek solutions and keep abreast of legislation and family assistance.

KinKare is auspiced through Connect the Coast Association Inc. and has representation on the Council of Grandparents.

Many relative carers keep informed through KinKare’s monthly newsletter and family social activities. All relative carers and their families are welcome to attend meetings and receive newsletters. There is no subscription fee. Donations are always welcome.
